Doors

Australian standards now dictate that glass used in new doors or the replacement of glass in existing doors now needs to day glass.

What types of safety glass are used in doors?

The first decision you need to make about a new glass door or the replacement of the glass in a door, is whether you want clear or obscured glass.

Clear glass allows you to see through the door to your outlook such as your garden or if you’re lucky, a water, city skyline or mountain view. This consideration to be made if you choose a clear and translucent glass is that if you can see out, then others can see in, reducing your privacy.

Obscured glass can be either tinted or patterned. Either option will achieve the objective of maintaining your privacy, but it still has the major benefit of a glass door, letting light through and into the room or entrance or hallway.
